Report from Tour de Groundhog

The 24th Bill Jensen Memorial Tour de Groundhog Cyclocross was a Big Success! The warm weather (55-65 degrees) and sun was a welcome sight. There is no doubt that Spring is near. Below is a brief on the race results.

RACES:
In the Women’s race Beverly Enslow (PBC) just rode away for the WIN followed by Gina Kenny (Turin) and Amy Dykema (Team MACK).

Jacob Schilling, Joshua Mittelberg and Joshua Schilling (all Team MACK) finished 1-2-3 in the Junior event.

The Public Open was won by Jason Goddard of Rushville followed by JJ Kellock and Doug Urbank.

Jason Rassi (Wildcard) just plain out classed the fields in the Senior Open and Classic Cross winning the overall prize as well (MAVIC Wheelset). This guy was so quick I thought I was watching a criterium. MACK member Mark McGeen finished up 5th in the Open and 4th in the Classic. Way to go Mark!!

Eric Drummer (Albertos) seemed to float over the dismounts as he won the Masters 30+ race. Greg Springborn (Proctor) broke away early in the Masters 40+ and stayed away for the WIN. In the 50+ race Mark McGeen took the Gold!

GROUNDHOG PRIME:
Jason Fergurson (Wheel Fast Racing) tackled the groundhog during the Classic Cross and somehow got the wild animal back to the finish line. I heard the little critter was fighting Jason all the way to the line.
