xXx Racing Lincoln Park Crit: Report & Interviews!
Thank you to xXx Racing for some exciting -and windy- racing yesterday at a very dramatic location. The way you could see the race on the backside of the course as it went over the bridge, the U-turn (which was not as frightening as I thought it would be), along the waves splashing and the para-surfers (was that what that was?), all made a spectacluar race venue.
As far as the racing goes, Illinois has some definite winning streaks going on. Daphne Karagianis (Cuttin’ Crew) won again putting her way atop the Women’s 4s IL Cup leader board. And there are two unbeatable Spidermonkeys out there. Kristen Meshberg and Sarah Rice are the Ultimate 1-2 punch. Kristen and Sarah came in 1st and 2nd,
respectively, in the women’s open at the Burnham Spring Supercrit, Leland Kermesse and now The Lincoln Park Crit! Can I get some of what they have, please? Meshberg and Rice are about to head down South to Speed Week where they can hopefully continue this winning streak. Wish them luck! Then for the men, we have Adam Herndon (xXx Racing) who won the Men’s 3s again, after winning the Super Crit. Also a lady to take note of this season is Katie Isermann of Psimet Racing who finished 3rd in a tough Women's Open field in her first race after an injury last fall.In the Pro/1/2 race we had an Irishman, fresh off a flight from Dublin, John Mason, who along with xXx’s own, Liam Donague and Dustin Morici, lapped the field. (What’s up with these fast Irish lads, is there something in Guiness?) When those three crossed the line, they finished in that order. In the Men’s 4s , Bryon Noll, (xXx racing) and Todd Simeone from new this year team, Ten Speed Hero were the top two Illinios Finishers coming in 2nd and 3rd. The best Illinoisans in the juniors were Konrad Witt (ABD) who took second in the Junior 15-18 category and Sean McCarthy (South Chicago Wheelmen) who got 3rd in the 10-14 category. And I honestly do not know how some of those young juniors made it through that wind without getting picked up like a kite. It was brutal!
Full results aren’t up on USAC yet, however if you check out the xXx Twitter feed, you can find photos of all the results sheets. (Update: Results are up on the USAC website now.)
Also can we get big props to ICA pres, Loch Miwa for handling that BMW motorcycle in the wind all day, around tight corners and still keeping a smile on his face? And of course all the other officials for hanging out in the cold. As a racer, I don’t know how they do it!
Now below we have interviews with some of the day’s top finishers. We have several more interviews, however the wind and the PA system over-powered our camera's meager microphone. If I can clean up that audio a bit, I will try to post them as well. However below you can watch some interviews with Mr. Witt, Mr. Pankonin and Sue Wellinghoff who finished 3rd in the women's 4s AFTER winning Leland the previous day.

top designer bags
Most of the large, wheeled bags have multiple pockets and compartments to ensure that organization is easy. If you happen to be an organized person by nature, the many compartments will help you to take quick inventory of your top designer bagsequipment as it is quite common for fencing equipment to "grow legs" during competitions. Remember, missing equipment generally isn't theft, it's usually just a disorganized fencer grabbing everything that is near their bag and stuffing it in.
