This past Saturday was the Second Annual ICA Awards which honors those both on and off the bike that make great contributions to the sport of competitive cycling. After a nice meal, the attendees heard a presentation by Steve Johnson, CEO of USA Cycling about the state of the sport which was followed up by a presentation by Tom Schuller who recalled his years on the 7-Eleven Team and played a Tour of America's Dairyland slide show. After that awards were given to the 2009 Individual and Team Illinois Cup winners and the 2009 State Championship winners. Last, Steve Johnson handed out special awards for ICA Club of the Year, ICA Promoter of the Year, and an ICA Lifetime Achievement Award. The winners of those special awards are in the pictures below:
