This weekend brings two back-to-back Illinois Cup races . To make things really rewarding, the winners of every race will win free entries to Superweek. The winners of the Pro 1-2 Men and Womens races will win five free entries to Superweek races. The winners of every other race will win two free entries to Superweek races. If there are any combined category races, only the overall winner wins the Superweek prizes.
First up is Saturday's Cobb Park Criterium in Kankakee, IL. The Cobb Park Criterium runs along the Kankakee River and the beautiful neighborhood that surrounds Cobb Park. The South Chicago Wheelmen have done a great job hosting this criterium for years. This is a great race that is worth the trip.
The next day is the Forth Annual Fox River Grove Cycling Challenge hosted by RDS Cycling. This race is on Father's Day and what a Father's Day present this race can be. Every lap means confronting one of the biggest hills of any criterium in the Chicagoland area. Not many races break up the pack on the first lap but this is one of them. Is this race a challenge? In a word, yes.
The ICA thanks the promoters of Superweek for their generous support of these races and making the top prize in every race something special.
