The ICA cup series will provide individual and team ranking for road, track,
and cyclocross, as well as an all around ranking which will combine all these
areas of cycling. Current rider and club results and standings will be maintained
on a database and made available on the ICA web site.
- Races qualifying for the Illinois Cup Elite status will receive 1.5 times the normal Illinois Cup points awarded. State Championship events that also qualify for Elite Status will receive 2.0 times the normal Illinois Cup points. In order for an event to receive the Illinois Elite status, it must meet one of three criteria.
- One-day races must have a cash prize of $2500 or greater and stage races must have a $5000 or greater cash purse prize;
- Be an NRC Event;
- Meet the criteria determined by the ICA board that qualifies the event as truly unique and interesting. Examples would include the course, location, and long standing tradition.
- All Illinois licensed riders will be eligible for Illinois Cup points. One day license holders will not be eligible for Illinois Cup points due to the tracking of points will be done by license number.
- Unattached racers are eligible for Illinois Cup Points.
- Points will be according to the following schedule.

- Races that are part of the Illinois Cup Series will pick places at least 25 deep. All Illinois riders placing in the top 25 of these races will be awarded appropriate points for that race category as stated in the schedule of points. If of the 25 places only a few Illinois riders place then they will be awarded top points and the other points will not be awarded.
- State Championships in all disciplines will receive double Illinois Cup points, but only in approved Illinois Cup categories. Racers choosing to race in non-Illinois Cup categories will not receive Illinois Cup points for those categories. State Team Time Trials will only receive single, not double, Illinois Cup points.
- Illinois Cup points will be awarded for track event omnium results, not for results in individual event races, heats, etc.
- All around standings will be maintained and will rank all riders, regardless of categorization, against each other based on the sum of all points received in all disciplines by each rider. This will recognize those riders who are competing in multiple disciplines and will hopefully encourage riders to try disciplines they are not currently involved in.
- Illinois Cup points can overlap a local points series; that is, a race can be both part of a local series and an approved Illinois Cup race.
- In Illinois Cup Time Trial events, racers who scored in multiple events based on the results of one single time trial run, shall only be eligible for Illinois Cup points in one of the events. In such cases, the racer should specify in advance the category for which they wish their Illinois Cup points to be awarded. If the racer in question finishes in a point-earning place in other races, the points for that place will not be awarded to any racer.
