Sammy's St. Charles Prairie State Criterium

Le Tour is over! It's a sad day for me, but at least I won't have to sneak in my EuroSport viewing every morning at work. I'm sure Bevan Brookfield's eyes swelled when they played God Save the Queen during the final podium ceremony. (How many among us wish they would have played the Sex Pistols version instead, or at least something by The Jam?)

We are having a taste of another future tour in our own parts with a race happening this weekend. Here is some more info on that race.

Monsters of the Midway Preview (and a little history)

What's flat and four-cornered, yet scenic and exciting? That would be the Monsters of the Midway Criterium, now in it's 22nd year on the beautiful Midway Plaisance by the historic University of Chicago campus.
Race director, Katie Mann, gives us the low-down on this South Side Staple!

Tour De Champaign and Illinois Cup Urbana Grand Prix Preview by Andrew Zens (Rhythm Racing)

This weekend there’s a wide open 4 corner crit on Saturday for the Tour of Champaign, a technical 8 corner crit on Sunday for the Illinois Cup Urbana Grand Prix and plenty of entertainment on Saturday night. Sounds like a good weekend to get downstate!

Cobb Park Criterium Preview

For the last two years, The Cobb Park Criterium has coincided with a popular ToAD race in Milwaukee. This year the South Chicago Wheelmen moved it earlier in the season, so folks wouldn’t have to make the choice to do one or the other. Which is awesome, because I want to do some ToAD this year, but also really look forward to doing this race, maybe because it was home to my first podium ever last year. The Alderman James Cappleman's 46th Ward Lincoln Park Criterium Preview

Chicago-area bike racers have it good this weekend. Sunday, after we have cleaned all the Leland dirt from every crack and crevice on our bike, we get to race AGAIN, the next day only this time in the middle of one of the most beautiful parks in the world, Lincoln Park. Race director, William Pankonin, is giving us the goods on the new xXx Chicago criterium, The (ahem) The Alderman James Cappleman's 46th Ward Lincoln Park Criterium. Hope I got that right.

Fox River Grove Criterium - Race Preview

On Sunday, May 15th, local racers are treated to the Fox River Grove Criterium. A big thanks to Rob Curtis and the guys at Psimet Racing for saving this unique event after it was canceled by the original promoter. The Fox River Grove Challenge, as it was called before, was held for 5 years and has become a local favorite among certain racers.
